What are Product or Hosting Spotlight advertisements?
Product and Hosting Spotlights are text-based advertisements that are supported across our network of sites. They rotate between advertisers, just like the traditional graphic banner ads. Product Spotlights are limited to providers of products and services; Hosting Spotlights are limited to hosting providers and related services. In addition to having great user appeal, Spotlights have the advantage of being easy to create and tweak, allowing you to create very effective advertising with limited production costs. Can I use split-testing on my ads in DevMavens so each slot shares 50% of my slot's impressions?
Yes. Just like you can with the impressions-based Run of Network advertising in the Lake Quincy Media network you may also use split-testing with DevMavens' slot-based advertising. When you submit your ad image(s) and text to your account manager, just make sure he/she is aware that this is your intention and at what percentage you want your ads to be split.

I’d like to track the clicks I receive from my ads via my site’s log files. What should I be looking for?
Lake Quincy Media’s AdSignia system uses JavaScript to display advertisements directly on our Publishers’ pages. As a result, clicks on these advertisements will show a REFERER in your log files for the page on which the ad was displayed. Thus, you will most likely never see “lakequincy.com” or any variation of this domain in your referring sites. What you will see are our publisher sites individually, allowing you to analyze which sites and even which pages are providing you with the best results (don’t forget you can target your campaign to specific pages or sets of pages if you like). If you would like to be able to easily track the total referrals you are receiving from Lake Quincy Media, we recommend the use of a special URL for your campaign. Many of our customers use a separate custom URL for each campaign or even each advertisement to track its effectiveness. Depending on your needs, you might simply have all of your ads link to http://domain.com/?lqm or you might use a redirect page on your site such as http://domain.com/lqm.aspx which in turn redirects the user back to your home page. By counting the number of requests for /?lqm or /lqm.aspx in your web logs you will be able to determine how many referrals were sent from your campaign. Another best practice is to create a custom landing page specific to your campaign. Learn more about Custom Landing Pages and our creative services.

Why are you called Lake
Quincy Media? What's that
all about?
Lake Quincy is an actual lake (seen in the picture above)
located on the north side of Kent, Ohio, which is near
our office. We chose the name for a variety of reasons,
including our fondness for the lake and the fact that the
domain name lakequincy.com was available. We also wanted
a unique name that was not just the usual "adjective
noun" or (technology acronym)(whatever) combination.

What kind of bird is that in your logo?
